You can update the name of your Remotr community at any time. This will also update your community’s URL (the slug is based on the name). This article explains what happens when you make the change, and what to do before and after.

Key things to consider before updating the community name

When you change the community name:

• The display name updates  inside Remotr community header
• Your community URL also changes to match the new name.
• Old links that used the previous URL will no longer work.

For example:

• Current name: Nomads Malaga
• Current URL: https://community.goremotr.com/community?community=Namads+Malaga+
• New name: Nomads in Malaga
• New URL: https://community.goremotr.com/community?community=Namads+in+Malaga+

Old community links

❗ Important: Old URLs won’t redirect to the new ones.

• Links with the old name that you’ve shared on websites, emails, or social media will stop working.
• Once you update the name, the old URL is released and could potentially be taken by another community.

Invitation links

Any invitation links you’ve shared before the change will stop working.

To share your new community invite:

1. Go to Invitation Links.
2. Copy the new invite URL.
3. Share it with your audience.

Let your members know

We recommend telling your members in advance about the update. Be sure to share:

• Why you’re changing the name.
• The date/time the change will happen.
• The new community URL.
